well they say crafters are the kindest people and they truly are , thanks for all your kind comments I will keep you posted..so today is time for a new creative expressions dt make and this time we were lucky enough to be spoilt with some of the fab new singles stamp range, stamps to die for and a mask. So for this make I have used the fab steampunk dress form, which comes as a single mounted stamp and also a new mechanical mask. I know this will come as a shock but I made a card, I know quite shocked myself! ( see here later as I have also made something else using this fab stamp) so here is my make :
I started by creating my background using pumice stone, weathered wood, stormy skies and black soot distress ink through the fab mechanical mask, moving it slightly and then adding each colour. I then lightly blended over the whole piece with pumice stone distress ink to slightly soften the edges. To complete the background I inked up this great chicken wire stamp in black soot and added in random patches.
Trace...welcome to my world...the one of non card making and surprising yourself when you actually DO make one! :) Your card is awesome! I love the colors and the stencils you've used in the background. So cool! The gears and chicken wire are so "industrial" together and look just awesome! I also really like your winged steampunk dress form. The perfect embellishments are the bits of metal cogs and you're added! Love it! Thanks for stopping by my blog as well and leaving a nice comment. <3 Candy
Gosh Trace - a card! And a beautiful card at that, love the background you created and the cogs look amazing to accent it. Wonderful, as ever.. Hugs, Anne x
Wow - what a wonderful stencilled background, soft and smoky... and your composition is faultless, keeping the eye moving around the card! I struggle mightily with cards (and I don't really understand why - they're just big tags, really), so it's great to see you step so brilliantly outside your comfort zone into card-making... inspiration indeed! Fabulous card Trace, I chose this Stwmp too, that makes three of us lol. Love your background using the mask, perfect for the steampunk dress form . Love the sentiment too. Great piece Trace. Tracy x
You made a card Trace! Great ideas resulting in a seriously arty card! I like how you've used the stamps and my favourite touch is the little touches of rust on the corners of the filmstrip - inspired! Juliaxxx
