tutorial for creative epressions Dt make

well here I am today with my final Dt make before Christmas for creative expressions.
I will have posts tomorrow and Saturday and will then be having a Christmas blog break..

thanks to everyone who has stopped by, have a wonderful festive time ..
so here is my make today using the if the crown fits set of stamps
( I wanted to show how you could use it for something without using the crown..)

I will include step by step pictures and try not to ramble too much,

so I started by making the heart, cutting the shape ..
and suing Tim Holtz riveted patchwork

then apply black paint dabber using finger tip and rub off excess

now for the key around it, this is a brass creative expressions key
that has been coloured using silver alcohol ink

now the backgrounds, I embossed silver keys onto a torn strip of card
and applied stains direct from the craft sheet
and for Base card I embossed clear keys and applied

apply stains direct to craft mat and spritz with water
continue to dip in to these, heat dry and re-dip until happy with the layers of colour

and finally assemble
adding Tim idea-ology letters..coloured silver with alcohol inks

thanks for taking the time to stop by
wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and happy new year!

also if you haven't seen there is a wonderful free project to download
from the talented Sue Wilson

have a fun and inky one!

my take on the funkie junkies tags no 2...

well another day...(and a wet one at that!! yuck...)
.. another post..
as i have the funkie junkies fab tags to catch up on..
Linda's wonderful tag inspiration can be found here..
and if you manage to join in all twelve there are some great prizes
sponsored by Linda's wonderful store... the funkie junkie boutique..
so here is my tag 2

i took my inspiration from the riveted patchwork background..
i adore this technique.
. but went my own way on the colours and embellishments..

i used blues and the fab iced spruce DI...i adore this colour..

the snowflakes were die cut from a Tim die...
edged with iced spruce and stamped with music script in iced spruce..

the letters ..were chipboard..
coloured with my fab new distress stain..iced spruce..
did i say i love this colour?!

i then coated with glue and seal
and yes ...you have guessed sprinkled with lose rock candy distress stickles..

i added some metal idea-ology to the centres of the snowflakes..
a piece of rosette die inked in ...
iced spruce..along the edge to create a border
and finally some new idea-ology tinsel to the top.

well two down...
make sure you pop across here to see Linda's fab inspiration..

have a fun and inky day!

how many bats can you fit in a jar?

well i have quite a few Halloween makes still to blog...
I am not big into the whole Halloween thing but I LOVE making Halloween things!!!
so here is another riveted patchwork. make......
.i know predictable..
...with some bats in a jar!
so here he is :

i was desperate to play with my new bell jar front he one and only crafty master Tim!
so here is mine...a jar full of bats...

i started by making my riveted patchwork background..
adding cogs underneath the metal first..
then adding orange , purple and black tones of alcohol inks...

i added some bats on a scrunched and inked background.
some fab idea-ology tinsel...
some very bright...flowers
(using tattered floral die)

and of course..
some stapled bats!!!!

i hope you like my batty jar?!
I had a lot of fun making this!

to old and new followers for taking the time to stop by here..

a riveting halloween..

yes you've guessed it,
more riveted patchwork..
cannot stop sorry!
i WILL post something different next time!
so here is my piece:

i started with a riveted patchwork background and only sanded off  some of the colour
as i liked the effect
then i added a tree die cut and stamped cobwebs
around the corners..

the stones, a new Tim die ..which is fab..in my humble opinion!!
was coloured with pumice stone, lots of weathered wood distress added...,
i brushed some off around edges before heating...
then added more grey and black soot..
hope that make sense..

i added some bats..LOVE these too
well i love bats anyway...

The sentiment was stamped, covered with rock candy and then i chipped the centre out..

well i will be back soon with something different...
promise!
