General inky stampy happiness for woyww # 149

Hey there,
It is that time of the week again where we hop around the crafty spaces and places of blogland courtesy of our hostess Julia here,
so here is my desk today, full of piles of stamps, some stains and the remnants of some inky play, oh some finished cards /tags and some blending tools and a mucky rag on the floor...the addition to my new improved non stamp cleaning happy stamps!!! do you know I think my stamps are happier mucky, loved and used!!!!Although I do feel myself reaching for the wipes and have to stop myself!!!!

The pile on the left is stamps that have been out to play and there are more scattered on the floor!!!I have kind of spread out and taken over!!!
having been off it for most of the children's holiday and all of my hubbies with a horrible chest infection and stuff, I have kind of left things that would have been put away! Good job hubbie was around to look after me and the children, he was a star, just a shame we lost our days to my parents and to London, but hey ho!!

So, I am off to get hopping around blogland!!
Make sure you pop across to Julias to see all the craftspeople and spaces and general midweek craftiness!!
Have a fab, fun and inky day!!

Hugs trace x

  2. Sorry to hear you've been so poorly. Hope you are on the mend.
You made me smile when you mentioned your stamps being spread all over the place on the floor...'oooooo' I thought, someone else as bad as me lol...(you'll see what I mean) and then I saw the lovely neat pile :0)
Stamps stamp better unclean :0) That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. My stamps only get a clean if I use them to teach a workshop and someone else wipes them.lol

  3. Well, we know Tim doesn't clean his stamps, only wipes them - so why should we...!! Love your space today, hope you're all better soon... Helen 39

  4. Lovely desk for a snoop and lots of lovely goodies around. I am with you.... I only wipe my stamps with a piece of old towel (a la Tim H) and as long as they stamp why worry.... we aren't on the earth long enough to be doing things we don't need to. At both CHA and Stitches I saw people almost fighting to claim one of TH's dirty rags!!! There's fame for you!

  5. Hi Trace Love your ribbon storage it makes a very pretty curtain indeed. Why don't Ikea make those lovely wooden drawers anymore? Don't they know crafters love them. You need to get stamping on yours I think :-) Happy WOYWW Helen 35

  7. Butterflies and Bagpuss jumped out at me from your workdesk, and made me smile along with your ribbons. Glad to see I'm not the only one with Tim Stamp binder, although that is all the storage I need as I'm not really a stamper! BJ #42

  8. Wow, think you have more stamps than me so that is some achievement (I have tons). Most of mine are rather mucky, not only that but I throw them in the Really Useful boxes - I know I'm not supposed to but it takes too long to stick them back in their folders.
    Thanks for sharing.

  12. It's funny how we all see different things, eh? (ref the butterflies & bagpuss) What leapt out at me was the ribbons - would love to see how your ribbons are hung! Any chance of a close up next week? BTW, love the tag on your desk.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  13. I'm definitely with you on the whole not cleaning stamps issue. I reckon they work better when they are not cleaned, it's almost like they've been primed and the next layer of ink, sits better on the rubber.

Sorry to hear you've been a bit under the weather.
    Take care, Lin

  14. Life is too short to clean stamps - at least that's what Julia tells me!! As long as it doesn't interfere with the next time you use them then why bother!!

  17. I do usually clean my stamps as soon as I have used them, mostly just baby wipes and kitchen roll, as most of my ink pads are water based. If I use Stazon, then I do use the cleaner as I want to keep them clear and see through. I do think you have a lot more stamps than I do, though. Thank you for your visit today, and your kind comments. Have a good day. xx Maggie #2

  21. Your work space looks great - I love all the ribbons hanging down, and your lovely stamp storage. Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog - there's still a bit of tweaking needing doing. As for my Choc-a-Bloc project, keep watching - it will be a while, and even I don't know what it will turn out like in the end!!

    Happy WOYWW,

  23. I always clean my stamps because if I don't I'll drop them or knock them into my latest project. I don't go crazy with official stamp cleaner and a toothbrush though, just a wipe enough to keep them from contaminating other things. I love your desk and crafty space, lots of good things to play with. I hope you're feeling better soon.

  24. what a fun room. why clean your stamps they only get dirty again. mine only get cleaned when its acrylic or something that ruins them. Carol x 162

  25. What a great desk, floor, etc., etc.! Isn't there a stamp that says "one can never have too many stamps." hee hee

I clean my stamps after I use them. I also live in a dry climate so think it may be helping the rubber when I do.

    Happy WOYWW
