the holly and the ivy...and purple and silver..

hey there will this post is to save everyone having to stop by lots.

 

.i have made a purple and silver creation for our creative corner....

and a holly and ivy inspired creation for Hels at the Sunday stamper..

and time is precious and I am nurse to two poorly boys!!! great ...not!

so here goes A WHISTLE STOP TOUR..

 

here is my purple and silver tag which I am entering for our creative corners purple and silver challenge and frilly and funkies..make it a tag..

 

 

with a silver star and silver wire

 

 

and frosted flower..

 

and here is my holly and ivy inspired tag for Hels at the Sunday stamper:

 

 

with rusty bells and wire

and triple embossed holly leaves

 

 

 

so a whistle stop tour of two different makes..

it 's christmas tag time for dragons dream TIO dt

well it is time for the dragon to dream

 and this fortnight it is Christmas tag time,

so have fun and get inky with us!!

 

the only rules this time...make a tag

and use at least one real stamp!!!!

oh and have some inky fun!!!

 

so here is my make :

 

a simple inky background...

over stamped with a fab Tim flourish stamp..in

okay I succumbed to the glitter again......

so stamped and embossed with the fab sticky embossing powder

and sprinkled with loose rock candy glitter

 

did I say I love it!?

 

 

then I stamped the fab

snowflake blueprint stamp and embossed in true white embossing powder..

 

then added a snowflake die cut

and this fab centre

from the lovely Mel

 

 

some dyed seam binding and voila!

my first posting as new dt...so lets get inky for try it on tuesday

well hey there on a wet and windy day here!!

 I am chuffed to announce that I was lucky enough to be chosen

as one of the new Dt members for Try it on Tuesday Dt..

 so here is my first piece ..the challenge is lets get inky :

 

 

I started with my favourite a manila size 8 tag

and lots of inky yumminess

and spritzing on my craft mat

 

dipping and drying..repeatedly

then added some crackle stamping using metallic distress stain

 

 

the sentiment again stamped in DI

and mounted on some rusty wire

 

I added a flower made from my new poinsettia die.

...this is yummy

 

 

and have stamped music on some and coated the top petals in

loose rock candy glitter

I had to didn't I?

and some spirals of rusty wire

make your own decorations and tutorial for creative expressions DT

firstly thanks to everyone

who has taken the time to stop by here,

 taking time to follow all or some of my creative journey means a lot!

so for my creative expressions design team make today,

 I have some decorations and a step by step..

using heartfelt creations ornamental medallions..

 

so here goes:

 

 

start by cutting some bauble shapes

( I used tim holtz die..but heartfelt creations

have dies....you can also use wooden shape shown later..)

 

then cover with adirondak paint dabber I used blue..no surprise there!!

 

 

then when dry edge with distress ink..

 

now for the tops,

cover in clear embossing pad, then sprinkle with silver embossing powder and heat

 

 

now to stamp..

ink desired stamp..i used the large snowflake design in archival black ink

(and for some the smaller design in a more random pattern)

set aside to dry..otherwise it can go smudgy and nasty..yes I  wasn't patient!!

 

 

when dry the bauble can be covered in either rock candy clear crackle paint

and set aside to crackle..

or

yes you guessed glue and seal and some loose rock candy glitter

(did I say I love this stuff?)

glittery without  being glittery...does that make sense?!

 

 

finally some string, jute, wire or bakers twine to hang up

for the die cut ones I sandwiched two together..

oh and added some liquid pearl dots..

 

here are some other ideas for colours and designs:

these are on wooden bauble shapes,

and instead of rock candy or glitter these have been triple embossed

and on the last layer different flakes and embossing powders sprinkled in

 

 

and just to show I can craft in something other than blue.....

some magic and mystery for dragons dream dt

well it is that time of week where the dragon reveals another crafty recipe

 to challenge and inspire..

so here is today's: magical mystery.

.the ingredients are :

a little magic,

some mystery and

 a little fairydust

also please remember to make a tag and use at least one real stamp..

so here is mine :

 

 

so my mystery is Santa, magic is Christmas and

some fairy dust is on tag...

 

I love Christmas and all the magic and excitements that surrounds

it with our children..

just wonderful..

 

so I created a background..using DI,

some fab sticky embossing powder.......

and ssh some rock candy loose glitter..

 

the main image is a fab Tim components stamp

and I love it ..

 

 

I added some natural twine,

a silver heart..

a bottle of fairy dust

ribbon and crochet ribbon at the top ..

and some chit chat stickers

 

 

ooh and a star covered in picket fence crackle paint

and inked

 

 

I wonder what magical make you will create

hey there,

 well here I am again..

with another tag for my grand catch up on the funkie junkies twelve tags

this is where Linda gives a tag for inspiration

and then you make  tag inspired by the tag, saying what you used as inspiration!

mine is very different this time...inspired by

 the natural elements and embossed panel

I used a snowflake embossed panel instead

and muted colours

 

 

I stamped the background with crackle stamp

oh and some sticky embossing powder and rock candy loose glitter crept in!!!

and snowflakes

 

 

added this beautiful angel

and sentiment from mini holidays set 4

 

to complete the natural feel I added some rusty wire..

and a flower made from kraft glassine

with a rusty bell centre

 

 

finally a rusty heart bound with rusty wire..

 

 

I found this tag a real challenge to start..

but am so pleased with the end result!

dimensional festive make for creative expressions DT

hey there blog friends,

 new and old..

thanks so much to my new followers and to my faithful followers

 who have left such lovely comments ....they are treasured...

well it is Thursday and time for another

creative expressions Dt make

so here she is:

 

 

and the other side :

 

 

the sheets of stamps i have used are

let it snow

and

heartfelt creations medallions set

 

i have loved playing with these stamps and

that you can create simple and elegant cards and tags

..and then get carried away on things like this ..

 

 

i started by covering a block with the fab new melange tissue wrap..

and  in snow cap, pearl and silver paint dabbers

and a wash of watered down gesso..

 

the tree side had heartfelt medallions small stamp, stamped

and embossed with cosmic shimmer silver  powder

and a dot of liquid pearls added to the centre.

i also added some die cut snowflakes from the new frosted film..

 

 

the tress were stamped in pumice stone,

covered in sticky embossing powder..this is fab..

and yes you have guessed...sprinkled with rock candy loose glitter

did i say i love this?

a little wire and some wooden stars finish this side

the top is an idea-ology knob

 

and the feet are bingo numbers..layered

painted and glittered..

 the other side

 

 

has the beautiful reindeer stamped and

embossed in cosmic shimmer silver...

some flowers,

 

 

covered in glue and seal and then..

sprinkled with loose rock candy glitter..

a few leaves cut from

ranger foil sheets...and glittered as the flowers

 

oh and the sentiment is from the let it snow sheet

festive sleigh ride for creative expressions DT

well here i am again

 with another DT make for creative expressions,

 using the fab set of stamps..let it snow..

and also ornamental medallions...

 

so here is my make:

i know that lots of people like to make cards

especially at this time of year

and this card could easily be made in various colours

to suit your personal taste..

 

i started by creating a background by clear embossing

the small bauble stamp from medallion set

which looks like snowflake to me.?!

 

then i covered with vintage photo distress ink

and used flick and spritz to add details

also spraying with a

pearlized spray to get some shimmer.

in the centres of the snow flakes

i added some dots of liquid pearls

 

 

the reindeer and sleigh

were stamped onto canvas

in coffee archival ink..

this creates another texture on the card

 

a little wire to attach the sleigh to the reindeer

and a tiny bell

 

 

finally i added

let it snow sentiment

to complete the card..

so i chose..a reindeer, my message is the warning..

and snowflakes are fragile...

i'm back ....my take on Tim's tag November 2012

well i am hopefully back to the land of ..being well,

 blogging  (my poor neglected blog)

and being up to visiting my blog friends...

i have felt very guilty and apologise that i have not stopped by...

thanks to everyone who has sent kind wishes and left lovely comments..

i hope i am now over whatever horrible virus i have had ..

and hope to catch up and get back to full speed..

 

so thanks to followers new and old..i appreciate it!

 

so enough...onto my take on Tim's tag November 2012...

now i know this will come as a shock...as it did to my Hubbie..but I didn't have the stamps!?!

I know i was shocked too..so I did a festive spin.

Tims tag can be found here..and is as always fab...

and here is mine:

 

 

I tried hard to master all the techniques Tim shows in fab detail

here..

but boy this was my fourth go at the trees....

the others..

well they are in the ssshhhhh........b i n.!!!

 

 

i used my new foliage die to cut festive foliage..

and coloured some idea-ology pearls for holly berries..

(think Tim may have done this last year...

sorry cannot remember when...)

 

 

i Love doing these tags ..and have learnt so many cool things..

and some i need to master...like the tree technique....
