going green for the sunday stamper, well mostly!

well over at the Sunday stamper this week..
Hels has set us the theme of green..
i love crafting in greens...
so here is mine, another tag.....
I started with an already gesso-ed through stencil tag...
inked.......embossed and re-inked..boy did i have fun!
The wings..of course there are wings...
were embossed with distress and i tapped lots off and inked..
the heart..well  that was a happy accident...
I had rock candied my heart , when staining with distress , a few bits came off,
so...i emptied the middle part , inked and covered with glossy accents!
and found i quite liked it after all...
to complete i have added chit chat stickers,
flowers using tattered floral die and
some dyed ribbon..
there are some fab green creations already..
thanks Hels for continued inspiration...
fan challenges!
I am entering this for the following :

have a fun and inky day!

simon says be inspired by summer distress...and i was ..

well due to holidays it has been a while since i played along
until now...
so here is my summer distress inspired entry..
a large journal page ...
i would never use all these colours together in one place normally,
but was surprised
at how well i liked the finished blends of colour..
i started by making my own sprays using re-inkers and mini misters
and spritzing and blending..
then i layered on more colour suing
the summer DI and stencils..
to complete the background I added some dylusions leaves,
so LOVE these, with white highlights,
and  some faux bleaching...
Then onto die cuts, wings and dress forms and hearts are a must!
a bit of wire, some lettering and ..
there you have it!
I am entering this for the following competitions :

Dt Call Challenge For Creative Expressions...texture

well when I saw this Dt call I was excited to say the least...
but holidays to Disneyland Paris and family time was first,
so it is not till now that I have made my piece for
this Design team call at Creative Expressions ..
So here he is :
I love steampunk, tags and all things Tim
and my among my favourite steampunk stamps
are the fab plates by Sam Poole from Creative Expressions..
I created the texture in lots of ways.....
........I hope.......
the background tag was made using embossing folders,
a take on Tim's rusted enamel technique
and my trusty distress inks!
The cogs are using card, metal foil ...
a new rusty technique picked up from Andy Skinners Timeworn course
which I have just begun...
I added a crackled light bulb, string and metal idea - ology
for a variety of other textures...
finishing off with  my steampunk gent,
and a mini bottle full of old watch parts...
have a fun and inky day!

Time for my Tim's tag August 2012

well now that we are back into the swing of reality
after the excitement and magic of Disneyland Paris..
here is my take on Tim's tag for August 2012..
i tried to capture the essence of Tim's fantastic tag, but with a twist ..so here it is :
When had an amazing time in Disney this time
and i love the timeless magic that Tim has captured,
but when we went the first time with the two boys
 it was Halloween.......
and so i decided to incorporate that element into my tag...
All the fab step by steps for Tim's tag can be found here...
I did have to adapt some of the items as despite having lots and lots of Tim goodies..i found i didn't have it all!!!
I don't know who was more surprised Steve or me?!!
thanks for stopping, promise to get back to blogging speed this week!!!
have a fun and inky day!

dragons dream TIO #123, art for arts sake, dt piece

well it is time for another recipe over at dragons dream tag it on challenge,
the only rules are to follow the recipe and make a tag
using at least one real stamp..
so todays recipe here, is,
art for arts sake.....
 to use: a handmade background,
intersting character(s)
quirky twist
so here is mine:

to create my handmade background,
I used the fab Tim technique ..marbled stains..with a twist of perfect pearls mist
..hopefully you can see the shimmer..
(colours: broken china, picket fence and tumbled glass)
i added some splatter stamping from bitty grunge stamp set..

i then scuffed up the edges and added distress inks..

the quirky twist was the butterflies with bottle bodies...
i love these little bodies and love finding different ways to use them...

I added my interesting character, coloured in distress markers
and added fly from a paperartsy sheet..
i love the fab picket fence marker...gives a real vibrant white...
I added a second set of wings fro added dimension

and finally overstamped the edges
with some fab Tim flourishes..

make sure you pop across here to see all the fab DT makes,
you won't be disappointed!
and maybe dream with the dragon
and pop in a creation using this great recipe yourselves..

have a fab and inky one!

handmade backgrounds for anything goes challenge dt piece

time for another dt piece over at anything goes challenge

playing with inks and paints, stencils and more
to create backgrounds..
so here is mine :

make sure you pop across here for to see all the fab dt makes
and here for lots of crafty goodies.

I started by spritzing my page with these wonderfully vibrant
dylusions sprays in fresh lime and vibrant turquoise..

i then used inks and stencils,( flower stencil..dylusions )
and more inks

adding fab stanpy inky detail using stamps
(doodle parts and basic backgrounds from Dylusions,
and Wendy vecchis art fit for a queen)

why you don't you pop across and add in an entry yourselves..

have a fun and inky day!

even more distressing.....

well here is another monchrome distressed green piece,
this time using the fab bag die that i saw used by
the wonderfully talented Candy Colwell use here,
I loved her make so much, i decided to have a go myself...
So using the same palette as my tag , found here,
here is my gift bag:

I used paper from a Tim stack,
die cut the bag shape,
and got distressing!

I added lots of distress ink,
then added the chicken wire stamp, randomly
love this stamp
masking off the sides of the bag,
then I clear embossed some butterflies from the Tim papillion set,

I dont know why, but i love clear embossing!!!
To complete i added die cut movers and shapers dress form, inked
and overstamped with papillion background
and some harlequin border left from another project
and this wonderful sentiment.
have a fun and inky day!

flutterby butterfly...

well here is another little piece for you
while we are away..
i made this canvas a while ago and
have not got round to blogging it..
so here it is:

i had lots of fun playing with stencils, paints inks,
tissue wrap,
and more..

still not sure what i feel about the success of this piece,
but playing was fun..

i was happy with my butterflies..
which were made by adhering Tim's tissue wrap
to clearly for art
which allowed them to be stamped, cut, coloured,
heated and then shaped......

oh and i loved the quote :

thanks for stopping by, will catch up with you all real soon!
have a fun and inky day!
