my Tim's tag for April 2013

well talk about last minute.com! I am so late with this tag and not entirely sure that I have mastered the crafty master Tim's technique..needs more play time me thinks..
Anyway here is my make , and Tim's fab make can be found here ;

I love Tim's technique, not sure I have enough metallic distress or enough blue in mine...so a few more pictures and I will leave you in peace!

have a fun and inky one!

inked, spritzed and flicked..and inked again!

and some rock candy distress stickles lightly applied with my finger..
the leaves, were inked..

and the other side..

I started with a a blank wooden block, which i crackled and covered
with various pieces of card stock treated in different ways
in an attempt to cretae various tones and textures.

i have added all sorts of idea-ology, die cuts shapes..

simons says ...one for the girls..

well one for the girls ..was so not me..
i am having a grunge kind of feel to my makes so this really put the pressure on...
so this is as girly as i could get today...

i started with a selection of wendy vecchi arts parts, some distress inks and off i went...

i coloured all the arts parts with blue distress, spritzed with perfect pearls,
dried then added picket fence from my craft may mixed with DI,
dried then added dusty concord DI.

Once all the spools had been put together ,
I added flowers made from Tims tattered floral die, bottles ,

a wendy vecchi arts part pocket watch..coloured in same way
and some butteflies..stamped onto grungepaper
and then cleary for art layer added.

i tried to add detail to the back so that
the piece looked good from behind too..

Dream a little dream...

Some dreamy play with new stamps and arts parts...makes me happy!
So here is me, indulging myself and playing with no idea where i will end up...so here is where it ended:

I have hung my nose over this set of stamps for some time and sold some old stash to
pay for it! I started by inking some arts parts with DI, drying between each layer of colour.
Then when dry I added the number strip  in DI,
dried and then added the same strip in DI and embossed on back and across frame front.
The main man image is layered with DI coloured parts, manila face, and ranger foil crown
and to give more depth to wings I used clearly for art...

The dream was stamped in archival ink, coloured with DI and a layer of
fab rock candy added! I love this stuff...

To complete some idea-ology...and voila..my dreamy piece was done...no where near where I thought it may end..but a fun one the less!!!
Let me know what you think...we all need to dream sometimes?!right?!

Imagine...another ...tag!

Hi there,
So the sun is still shining, which must be a record!!!and today, here is a tag!!!

This time over at dragons dream tag it on, the challenge is a tag, with a splash of green, buttons and a butterfly or two...now I had no problem with the green and butterflies, but buttons..boy I did struggle!
So I made an inky background with distress stains , added some Tim stamping for the flourishes and added some distress stickles.
The flowers were Wendy vecchi ones, cannot remember which set sorry! These were painted with wild honey DI and the tricky buttons added.
The butterflies were made by gluing tissue wrap to clearly for art..the clear flavour as quoted from Hels!! then the images were coloured with distress markers, and heated and shaped!
The ribbon was coloured with wild honey, to link in with flowers. I am not very good with recipes, in or out of the kitchen, as my family will tell you...cooking is not ME!!!! But, i am fairly pleased with this tag.

a dream is a wish your heart makes!

hey there,
well here I am today with yet another non tag !!! how shocked are you!? I am here with my first ever foray into a spool piece using Wendy Vecchi arts parts, so here she is :
Not sure this photo does the colours jsutice!?sorry
I have always admired the fab spools others have made and Hels here makes fab pieces using them..so I wanted to have a go. i started by colouring the pieces using one of my all time favs in DI..broken china, i then over stamped some script in picket fence distress stain, blasted, re - inked and then stamped the script in black archival.

The watch was arts parts coloured , glued and then script stamped across top layer.Once the main elements were ready I played making butterflies with the fantastic clearly for art film and butterflies onto grungepaper coloured with DI. I love the way these two layers gives a fab effect.

The flowers were made using Tim's movers and shapers tattered floral die and spritzed with perfect pearls mist when ink dry.

To complete I added a large bottle to help support the watch part, a little bottle, the word dream from a Wendy quote, and a quote at the base.

I am chuffed with this monochrome piece and can see me playing with these lots more!! for more fab arts parts inspiration be sure to visit Hels here as she is the Queen of arts parts!
