well it is mid way through another challenge over at Frilly and Funkie ...and the theme is what's your poison? with a twist to create a Halloween project using black and green but no orange . So here is my make :

I had lots of fun with Distress paints and some of the new stencils to create my background....followed with some cobweb stamping.

I love how inks and stamps layer across the gorgeous new colours of Distress paints. then I added some art part shelves and got busy filling the shelves.

From cheap plastic pumpkins to gruesome green ones...

nestled in amongst the cobwebs..

and nestled amongst lots of bottles with labels and filled with all sorts of goodies

....alongside the fab new die cut bottles coloured and crackled and with some rub ons ...

I had lots of fun creating this and all products listed below...hope you will pop across here and see my fab team mates amazing makes and hopefully join in the fun x

potion making for Country View Crafts Dt piece

well the challenge of something spooky continues over at the country view crafts challenge blog and what better excuse than to pick out The Chemist and some yummy distress paints .

So here is my spooky make :

lots of Distress paints, well I do love them some texture from studio 490 white paste and also lots of little bottles.

I started by creating the background and hope you can see the spooky skeleton faces ( from my much loved apothecary set ) hiding in the background.

I stamped in picket fence stain and lightly misted to get them to fade into the background....some stamping with ink using script from Apothecary set too .

Now for Mr Chemist , the master of potions ...in this piece ...painted with watercolour brush and distress markers.

And had lots of fun filling bottles and adding labels and adding little tags using tiny tabs and tags die . I coloured some of my bottles using alcohol inks,

So hope you like my make and make sure you pop across and join in the fun x

Thanks to everyone who has stopped by I appreciate all your kindness and comments x

have a fun and inky day!

colours of autumn for Frilly and Funkie DT make

As we have a new challenge and another great new feature over at Frilly and Funkie here are the details in Sue's own words :

Hello, it's Sue here and it's my turn to host the challenge for the next 2 weeks. Before we get in to that, there's also some news to share about a small change we're making here at Frilly and Funkie. As you know we always have 2 winners for each challenge, one chosen at random and one chosen by the Design Team. From this challenge we will be inviting the winner chosen by the Design Team to be a Guest Designer for one challenge! So, now there's even more reason for you to join in!

Now onto the challenge, I love the colours of Autumn they are so rich and warm. The colours of the leaves are gorgeous, the golds, reds and rusts are just beautiful! The challenge is for you to create a project using these wonderful colours with a small twist, you must include some leaves on your project.

So here is my make for this challenge ...

I wanted to make a hanging piece and used lots of yummy distress goodies..all listed at end . I started by a piece of cardstock cut to fit my hanging board and applied Distress paints to my craft sheet and covered the background and also some spare card for the sentiment to be stamped on.
When dry I applied some texture paste (white ...coloured with a bit of distress paint) thorough a new Wendy stencil.

I also added some layers of distress ink and also some distress ink through a leaf stencil. When complete and dried I added to the hanging board which had been edged with the new crushed olive Distress paint .

Now the sentiment was stamped onto the spare piece of card in black archival...a gorgeous sentiment , don't you think ?

I inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink ...now onto the flowers and leaves all made using tattered floral and tattered leaves die, coloured with distress inks, spritzed with water and scrunched up...left and then unfurled, inked and spritzed with peeled paint re-inker in a mini mister with water .

Maybe they need some aged mahogany next time?

Well hope you like my make , make sure you pop over to Frilly and Funkie to see lots more fab makes .
have a fun and inky day!
