keeping it simple..

well on a chilly day..
here i am with another tag.
.i made a while ago...
those of you who pop across here will know i LOve my dress form
and here is a simple tag i made using it:

the background was coloured with...distress ..of course..
and edged with black soot distress..

i over stamped the background with a small script stamp
in brushed pewter distress stain..
these metallic distress stains are yummy!!!

the dress form was , unusually for me cut from white,
and a crumpled and torn tissue skirt added ..
i smooshed (technical term) this into picket fence and brushed pewter distress..

finally some wings covered in .....
my favourite lose rock candy glitter..
made from clearly for art white..

a flower..
a heart of course..
and some liquid pearls..

thanks for stopping by
your comments and
company mean such a lot to me...

playing with rust...

well here i am with a tag i made a while ago..
playing with rust technique..
from timeworn,
a great online Andy Skinner workshop..

so here she is:

i am not sure this is quite what Andy had in mind,
but i wanted to use these techniques
on things that are me..if that makes sense!

i LOVE this dress form almost as much as my cogs!

I added the sewing spool with wire, a crackled heart,

some staples i coloured with alcohol inks,
buttons tied with wire..
and some chit chat stickers..

let me know what you think of my rusty creation!
welcome also to all my new followers and thanks to everyone,
who stops by and leaves a comment..
i appreciate every one!

happy mail, with such heart..a tag swap..

well this is happy mail, Mel and i did a wonderful tag swap a while ago
and decided to do another,
this time the theme was to use a dress form..
and boy i was not disappointed....
not only did Mel send me the most wonderful tag creation ,
but so many wonderful and kindly chosen goodies it felt like Christmas!

So here is Mel's wonderful creation:

if you have not stopped by Mel's blog here..
make sure you do as you will not be disappointed by the
amazing creations and kindness you find there..

I love the background and all the layers of colour that have been created..

not forgetting the gorgeous dress form..
hope the photos do the colour, crackle and shine justice..

then there is the beautiful heart,..
and Mel has the most amazing way with wire..
look at this cobweb!

oh and the back is beautiful too...
and space for a lovely tag..

Once again, I love it..
and hope to do another one soon!!
Mel is a lovely lady with a big and kind heart!
thanks Mel,

So here is my take on the dress form..
I made a neutral background and stamped with some of my new metallic stain..

the dress form was embossed, inked and dipped in some stain,
and inked again..and ..
a little heart added.

the flowers inspired by craft stamper..
were made from DIY foil tape, embossed and generally distressed..

i added a quote which i love..
some ideaology
and floral trim
dyed with the stain..

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you pop across to see Mel's lovely work!

have a fun and inky day..
I will be back later with a very late entry for simon says stamp and show..read all about it!

even more distressing.....

well here is another monchrome distressed green piece,
this time using the fab bag die that i saw used by
the wonderfully talented Candy Colwell use here,
I loved her make so much, i decided to have a go myself...
So using the same palette as my tag , found here,
here is my gift bag:

I used paper from a Tim stack,
die cut the bag shape,
and got distressing!

I added lots of distress ink,
then added the chicken wire stamp, randomly
love this stamp
masking off the sides of the bag,
then I clear embossed some butterflies from the Tim papillion set,

I dont know why, but i love clear embossing!!!
To complete i added die cut movers and shapers dress form, inked
and overstamped with papillion background
and some harlequin border left from another project
and this wonderful sentiment.
have a fun and inky day!

Magical monochrome

Well I feel that haven't blogged a tag for a while and the rogue redheads challenge is distressed greens and i love crafting with green distress, so , here is one:

I started with various greens, some stencils, gesso and some stamps...
and this tag just evolved..
Started by applying  a layer of gesso through the chicken wire stencil,
and left to dry,
then when dry applied DI over the tag and then
stamped some chicken wire randomly
from the mixed media set of Tim stamps
I distressed the edges and inked these...

the wings were cut from  old packaging and coloured with alcohol inks.
.I quite like that they are hidden in certain lights/ angles

I love, love  this dress form and applied black soot embossing powder
on the main part of the dressform  and then
added a canvas dress ,inked with DI.

to complete I added a heart, some ribbon , harlequin border
and a flower made from the tatteredd floral die.

I love all the textures and layers and although I am embracing colour,
 I love working in monochrome.
Are you a colour person..or do your prefer muted, distressed or monochrome?
