well it is time for my second make this month for the country view crafts challenge site, where the theme is summer sizzler...and you may need your shades for this one! I certainly went for bright...scared myself! I wanted to reflect the gorgeous rich bobbing poppy heads and the gorgeous turquoise hues found in the sea and sky............so here is my make :
I started with another piece of mountboard to make a hanging..I then added some torn book pages and some grunge paste through tiny dots stencil. When dry I set too spritzing with calypso teal and vibrant turquoise. I dried and layered more water and spray until happy and then did Dyans' faux bleaching technique with the disco stencil. I love how this creates layers on a flat surface..
When dry I added some aquamarine treasure gold to highlight grunge paste texture and to frame the piece .
A Tim sentiment completed the main piece....now for the flowers........
I cut the flowers using the tattered floral die and shaped petals , then went to town with the super bright Dylusions spray in squeezed orange...dipping and spritzing until happy and shaping petals. The centres were washers and the small flower painted with black soot distress paint..
some rusty wire and voila!
Well after all that colour I may need a lie down! There is still plenty of time to play along and you never know you could be the lucky winner of a top 3 spot and GD place, or be the special mention and also a DT spot, or be picked for £20 to spend at Country View Crafts, a real treasure trove of goodies, fab service and free P and P.
have a fun and inky day!
