treasured memories for Country View Crafts

Well it is time for me to re-join my team mates over at Country View Crafts and the theme for this month is to use kraft card, I used kraft resist paper stack for my kraft card as I love all the textures and details on it .

I used lots of Tim Holtz goodies, ephemera and photo booth cards. I also played with one of the new release distress colours Abandoned Coral.. The boxes were made using Eileen Hull dies and are becoming firm favourites! I also used the heart die from Tim Holtz , which has so many wonderful shaped and sized hearts perfect for any occasion.

For the recipe box , I covered some thick card with kraft resist paper stack and then die cut the box.. I also die cut 5 recipe cards covered in kraft resist paper stack.... I then added lots of yummy layers .

I used the plain side to cover the cards and then added torn strips of the kraft resist and printed side , I then added layers of tissue tape coloured with Abandoned Coral distress paint.. I used this for all the cards and then added ephemera and photo booth cards and idea-ology cards for the details see below.

The box has the resist side of the kraft paper side up and again strips of coloured tissue tape added.

To complete the box I added a piece of ephemera and a heart die cut using abandoned coral distress paint edged in walnut stain distress ink . I added a typed token to tie box shut dyed with same colour and added paint to the typed token.

Here are the 5 cards...lots of ephemera ,abandoned coral, distressed pieces edged in walnut stain and some more hearts..and some kraft chit chat stickers .

Here are the cards in detail...this is the little boy ..

And this lovely man .. the father..

Now the little girl..

art is art , however small... for Creative Expressions DT

Before I start my post I want to say thanks to everyone who takes time to leave comments, I am behind and will be catching up! But with the boys first day back at school and Lucy at her first nursery session...I have been a bit preoccupied...I don't like it!:(, love them being at home)...so sorry if I am behind ...I know again! Also welcome to all my new followers , thanks so much, I really appreciate you taking the time to follow my inky journey xx

Well this month we have some fab new goodies to play with and remember there is still time to enter for Creative Expressions DT Call ...here . so for this weeks make I have used Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Classics set #4 , gold pearl texture paste and some gilding wax.

So here is my mini make :

So for this make I made this mini canvas, I coloured the front side edges in brushed corduroy. I tore a piece of cardstock for the from of the canvas, as I love how these inks work on card, For the larger piece I stamped in brushed corduroy and dried with heat tool then inked, the piece on top was stamped in coffee archival and inked.

I cut out some hearts and layered to make a chunky piece and stamped the lady from the row of faces in coffee archival and then masked her off and added the wording stamp behind. I then added some dyed seam binding for another dimension and texture.

For the edges of the canvas I roughly applied texture paste in gold pearl and heated to make it bubble...gives great texture..when cool I applied some light golden coloured gilding wax to it. I also lightly rubbed this round the front edges .

I added some die cut flowers and rusty wire to the front to complete this mini make over .

thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment, when I have dropped Lucy off :( I will be blog hopping! )x

have a fun and inky day!

just playin' the blues ... for creative expressions DT

well here I am better late than never with another make for Creative Expressions DT using the great and versatile floral silhouette set.  ( i will be back later in the week with another make ...as i missed one last week...)
So here is my make for today:

I love my neutrals but blue is also a firm favourite and I loved working in mono- colour...so decided to let some of my under used blue ink pads off the shelf to play!

I started by adding some studio 490 white texture paste through a leaf stencil...but Creative Expressions have new texture paste out in lots of yummy colours...and oops some fell in my basket..so more texture play to come me thinks!

Then I clear embossed some of the flower heads and flourish from the set to create a resist.(.because I added some water and heat set the ink,  some of the clear has melted ...but I quite like the effect.)

I then added lots of yummy layers of distress ink in faded jeans and chipped sapphire. I then spritzed with water and heat set.

The sentiment is from art sayings set and is jam packed full of fab sentiments/sayings. I also added a bit of bubble wrap stamping. The butterflies were stamped and cut out .

Finally I added some scrummy seam binding , dyed using faded jeans distress stain.

well hope you like my make and will be back later this week with another..

have a fun and inky day!

another tag for another daydream...dragons dream TIO DT

well it is time for another dragons dream challenge and this has been set by the lovely Gabrielle. So all you have to do is make a tag, use the recipe ingredients and at least one real stamp...so lets get cooking...crafty wise of course ( not great in the kitchen!!unless black is a good look!)
So the recipe is : white, transport and metal....

so here is mine :
So i started by adding metal DIY tape to my tag, embossing suing this fab Tim Folder...and then using Tims fab enamelled metal from Compendium of curiosities....love this look..This involves layering/swiping paint onto the tag , then adding clear embossing powder and heating...

The image is a Tim one Which I stamped and white embossed using detail embossing powder and added black distress ink using a waterbrush..

Now onto the fun bit the idea-ology and embellishing!! I added cogs...(I know you will be shocked!!!) wire (I know even more shocking!), film strip with rub ons on....some more yummy idea-ologyand some wings.

Finally some scrummy seam binding ...coloured with picket fence distress and black soot distress( watered down) to finish.
make sure you hope here to see the other fab makes form my team mates and also maybe dream with us..

have a fun and inky day!

these are a few of my favourite things..

well over at simon says stamp and show ...they are asking for a favourite ink...and for me that has to be undoubtedly, no question distress....that along with many other Tim Holtz products make an almost every make appearance and I love them! I love archival too and especially coffee...which has made an appearance but ...now distress inks...which colour....Tricky!!? YES! but I think vintage photo has it ...just ...although frayed burlap and broken china are firm loves too...

So here is my make...including vintage photo...and lots of other loves too..okay I have quite a few..hearts, rusty wire, corrugated card, texture paste...idea-ology...lots of it!, seam binding...okay ...enough:

So I started with a base of large tag, then corrugated cardstock and then torn cardstock...(as for my Saturday step X Step here ). I added some studio 490 texture paste...white flavour through a stencil ...but i mixed with a little vintage photo...which i inked across my stencil first ...then applied paste through...and it mixed creating graduated coluor texture paste.

The corrugated tag was swiped with gesso, and spritzed with a homemade spray from vintage photo re-inker, i then brushed wsome picket fence distress over and edged with walnut stain. The base of the tag was inked with vintage phot, spritzed and flicked and edged with more vintage photo. i then stamped some of the smaller images from Artistic Outpost Generation Redux set in picket fence...love the milky finish this gives.

The flowers were cut using hearfelt creations vintage floret die and stamped with script from Vintage ephemera set and edged in ...you guessed vintage photo. I added prima embellishments to centres. The main image was stamped in coffee archival and inked with vintage photo , keeping main portion plain.

I added a rusty heart from the Funkie Junkie Boutique, some rusty wire and a sentiment from think and wonder artistic outpost set.

Finally some yummy seam binding, dyed with vintage photo distress ink and stain.

Then lots of yummy idea-ology...and I still snuck a few mini gears in .....love love these!

home comforts for creative expressions DT

well here is a quick post from me to share my latest make for creative expressions...in my home comfort colours of the neutrals...after the last colourful make ...didnt want to scare you all off! So all the things I like today...fab new asters stamps..these are yummy, neutral colours and a tag...

So here is my make:

I started by layering corrugated card onto a large tag and then a layer of cardstock to create a place to stamp and add texture. I washed over the whole piece with yummy mushroom eco paint.
Then added some texture using white studio 490 embossing paste through sequin waste and then when dry adding mushroom paint.

In the corners I added some torn kraft resist paper, covered in picket fence distress stain to give a whitewashed look. I also stamped and then cut these fab Asters onto the paper too.

I added some soft text stamping in frayed burlap to the tag background as well...love those layers!

The smaller flowers were made using mini vintage floret set and when cut out a good dip in UTEE in the melt pot ( the centres are long fastners ...add these before dipping in the UTEE)

finally some dyed seam binding, a word band and a washer and fastner for the centre and there you have it!..oh and some twirls of wire...rude not to eh?

make sure you pop across and see how the rest of the Dt have rocked these stamps x

have a fun and inky one!

there's no time to waste for Frilly and Funkie DT

well it is time for the Funkie team to add their time inspired pieces to the Frilly and Funkie blog...for my theme There is no time to waste. There is still a week to play along and make sure you pop here and see all the fab Dt inspiration. I was so tempted to go for steampunk and grunge it up but decided to go for soft and gentle, delicate piece. So here is my time inspired creation:

I started by cutting the fab new pocket watch die out of greyboard ...and cream card for the base and then using the movers and shapers circles... I cut three layers with the centre removed. (hope that makes sense!)

I painted the top layer with antique linen distress paint , giving it two coats. when dry I added a good layer of rock candy, clear....leaving it to do its magic crackle thing!

The flowers were cut from cardstock and over stamped with fabulous flourish stamp in coffee archival...and then dunked I clear UTEE in the melt pot. This makes them sturdy and helps them to keep their shape. I added some pearls for centres.

The leaves...were cut from the tattered leaves die , from clear shrink plastic and then dipped in the clear UTEE , where they shrink and coat at the same time...very cool!!

The inside was cream card, lightly coloured with antique linen distress ink and then I stamped the papillon background using frayed burlap distress ink.

I added an idea-ology pen nib and a heart made from pearl UTEE in a mold , using my melt pot and a twirl of wire. Thanks Hels for getting me back into melt pot mode!!

I finally added some butterflies , stamped in coffee archival and some seam binding dyed with antique linen and frayed burlap distress stain.

make sure you pop here and join in the fun!
