playing with rust...

well here i am with a tag i made a while ago..
playing with rust technique..
from timeworn,
a great online Andy Skinner workshop..

so here she is:

i am not sure this is quite what Andy had in mind,
but i wanted to use these techniques
on things that are me..if that makes sense!

i LOVE this dress form almost as much as my cogs!

I added the sewing spool with wire, a crackled heart,

some staples i coloured with alcohol inks,
buttons tied with wire..
and some chit chat stickers..

let me know what you think of my rusty creation!
welcome also to all my new followers and thanks to everyone,
who stops by and leaves a comment..
i appreciate every one!

have a fun and inky day!

  3. Loving the Andy Skinner techniques Trace!! I've got a piece going out on Sunday and like you, I don't think it would be quite what Andy had in mind for his techniques but I'm sure he wouldn't mind us using them anyway we choose! Gorgeous tag and I love the heart in particular.

  8. Hi Trace, I am sure Andy would be delighted that you made his technique your own. The rusting looks so realistic, it is just amazing and I love how you use that dress form on lots of your projects, it has certainly been value for money. Love the heart and the wire too. I have some rusting powder but don't get very good results, probably my fault, which is why you never see any rust on my projects!! Note to self - try harder...... Crafty hugs, Anne x
