jewel in the crown..

well I am still struggling to re-connect with life..
after being cocooned in a family bubble...
Monday is looming...
and little Lucy starts nursery for the first time...how lost will I be!?
so hopefully crafting will fill the space.. till I can pick her up again!

and then get the boys from school...
Hubbie home ..
and a house full ..
 just how I like it!

anyways here is my last make with these elegant stamps from creative expressions..
I realised I had done all my makes in pumice stone!! so here is a brighter one:

I started with a distress background..blending broken china..
I love this yummy blue...

then I stamped the crown stamp and embossed using sticky embossing powder
and heating then adding loose distress rock candy glitter..
yes still love it!!!!

then I also over stamped the crown in broken china..

then I stamped the crown in black archival

coloured the jewels in broken china distress marker..
love how these are the same delicious colours as the inks!
and then covered in glossy accents

I then made a wire cage ..
added this fab sentiment..
oh and dyed some seam binding in yummy distress blues..

well that's all for me today..
off to practise my photo taking!!!

have an inky one!

  1. Hi Trace, I am in the same bubble, I have loved having the family at home and I am finding it difficult to get going. Live your tag, the wire cage is fabulous. Hope your daughter enjoys her first day at nursery. Tracy x x

  4. Doesn't time fly with kids! This year it's my eldest's 18th - he can't be that old surely!!! Five minutes ago he too was starting school.
Love this tag. Great way of using the crown and a fabulous choice of sentiments to compliment it. Here's hoping Monday is a good day. Hugs, Jenny x

  9. Happy New Year Trace! I may have been missing longer than you but I'm back and madly trying to catch up with you all.
I remember when Rebecca first went to Nursery so I know exactly how you feel. Coming home and making 'stuff' is a great way to fill the time in my opinion.
HUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGEEEEEE congrats for Frilly and Funkie and sorry I only came back to blogland yesterday and didn't say well done before!
Love the wire cage on your wonderful tag and the crown looks good in there too. Good luck for Monday - she'll love it!

  14. Yes, the hardest thing is letting them go to someone else's care but it will be so good for her and lovely to see her again at the end of the session. Great tag - I really like the jewel effect on the crown.

  15. You will be lost at first and then you will find things to do and so enjoy when it is time to pick her up! I still remember when my youngest started his first day of school and I thought he would cry, but it was me who cried and he ran off to play! All is good! This tag is amazing and I love that crown! Happy Weekend!

  18. Hello Trace and Happy New Year to you - I adore the wire - a beautiful piece. Sure you will find lots of crafty jobs to do with extra time on your hands! I never find time for everything I want to do and my kids are all grown up (thank God) so how you find any time at all beats me!
    Take care xx
