one stamp at a time 2 ways part 2 , for creative expressions dt

well here I am same time, same place to share part 2 of my makes with the same stamp, the first part can be found here .
So here is a reminder of tag 1 and 2:
tag 1

So onto tag 2 and a tutorial...

both these tags use the same great watch face singles stamp, which comes pre cut and pre mounted and you actually get 2 stamps of the same design in different sizes.

Step 1:
take a tag and ink up using distress inks and blend the colours, I used broken china, crushed olive, dusty concord and barn door.

Step 2.
Now cover the tag with the mechanical mask and re apply the colours of distress inks through the mask.

so where you applied broken china, re-apply over the same are being careful not to move the mask, and so on for all the colours. When you remove the mask you should be left with this :

Step 3 :
I distressed the edge using an edge distressing tool and then applied some soft black soot distress ink around the edge.

Step 4:
ink up the bubble wrap background stamp using archival ink but instead of inking as normal rub the archival across the stamp to give a softer inking and therefore softer stamped image.
Hope you can see here how lightly the stamp is inked this way..

 Step 5:
Now ink up the watch stamp, taking the archival ink directly to the stamp as normal and stamp in the middle of the tag.

I then lightly inked up the alpha writing stamp, again lightly and applied to the tag..hope you can see all these layers in the tag above..

Step 6 :
Now I used some of the fab cogs from vintage illusions set, inking some softly and some in normal manner to give contrast in stamped colour..see below:

 Step 7:
Add some white doodling using a white pen and dye some seam binding using black soot. Oh and add the sentiment, also from vintage illusions set.

Well if you are still here , thanks and hope that you have found this tutorial useful.. If you have a play please drop me a line I would love to pop by and see your makes ..

thanks for stopping by

have a fun and inky day!

  11. Love this Trace. I've not tried reapplying the same ink through a mask in that way - it gives such a subtle effect and works really well with the mix of stamping. Great tutorial. Hope you've all got through this week successfully and get to have a restful weekend. Hugs, Jenny x

  13. Hi Trace
I love your two tags they are so different even though the same stamp was used. It is great to show how many different things can be made with either same colours or same stamps.
I love the second one with the colours and the white work I have done something like this with Staz On
