I wanted to create a large piece and loving the time travellers set ...it decided on a steampunk style theme...
I started by covering the frame with texture paste(studio 490 black) and then when dry stippled over distress paints , including metallics to create a sort of industrial feel.
and then stippled with colour:
I then cut some of Lindas fab corrugated card and covered with a mix of metallic and distress stains..which I mixed and smooshed onto the craft sheet and then applied using cut n dry foam.
Then I set to work creating the inside pieces...
Then using the fab circles from the movers and shapers range I firstly cut a pocket watch using the pocket watch and base plate. Then I used the cut out shape and re cut using the smallest circle die to remove a piece from the centre, this gave me the piece placed on the box below.
So below shows the nearly finished piece that has used two masks made from the die and pocket watch base and frames, leaving a fab place in the centre just waiting to be filled...
I covered the outside watch pieces in clear embossing ink and the a mix of distress embossing powders in walnut stain, tea dye and black soot.
The key is also a movers and shapers die and here has been used with the wonderful steampunk gent from time travellers set: I have also covered the key in a mix of distress embossing powders, which creates fab texture and adds to that industrial feel!
I used this fab image from the time travellers image and coloured using distress inks and stains and my waterbrush. I then added a word band and a number plaquette...coloured up with distress paints.
I then used the cogs for somewhere else in the piece. I coloured these cogs by stippling the yummy new distress paints onto them...oh and no piece would be copmplete without some wire!
Well hope you liked my make and if you want to see my Friday Focus with more ideas for movers and shapers hop here...
