Happy First Birthday to Country View Crafts challenge blog ... and a new theme...paperchase!

Well before I begin my new blog post...it is the Country View Crafts Challenge blogs' first birthday! How exciting and thanks to all my team mates and Susan at Country View Crafts for a fab year...here's to the next one! Now onwards to celebrate our first birthday the theme is PaperChase....

so here is my make :

I very rarely use paper on makes as I love making my own inky backgrounds so for this piece I used some Tim Holtz papers and some old book pages and also used the colours of the paper to guide my colour palette for this whole piece..

So for the base I used a piece of mountboard..covered with card...

Lots of distress stains, smoosbing paper in and some stamping with distress inks...then for the next few layers including this piece of paper...covered with layers of picket fence stains to soften the colours and scuffed edges..

Now building up the layers ...

I added a doily die cut from book paper stuck to cardstock and some torn strips of book paper to a large #10 tag....also a prima flourish..and some twigs die cuts ...

little layered butterflies using Tim Holtz paper and bodies made of string..

pretty little flowers die cut again from Tim Holtz paper and secured with silver long fasteners...

more butterflies ... and more torn book pages..inked with distress ink.

finally a quote using a Tim stamp.. and a few more flowers...to create my paperchase piece ...

Make sure you pop across and see all the rest of my fab team mates makes and hopefully you will be inspired to play along with us this month!
