so here are the details of the challenge in her own words...
Hello and welcome! Nancy here, and it's time for an exciting new challenge! Summer is in full swing, bringing with it the height of vacation season. Our challenge is to create a project, card, or lay out with avintage travel theme, whether it's far away over the sea or Route 66!
I decided to make a mini tag travel themed book ...and here it is :
here is the back :
and here it is untied to show how it folds out ...
here is a little how to ... I started by cutting the tag die shapes and colouring using pumice stone and then frayed burlap DI. for this piece it was all about building up soft layers to create the finished piece .
Then I stared with a light colour of Distress ink (pumice stone ) and stamped this travel themed stamp ..over some of the pages. I then joined all my pages together using tissue tape to create the pages (sorry cannot find picture )
Now for some stencilled detail using frayed burlap again...
This is how I built up the backgrounds for all the pages ... Now for the insides :
I added some of the framework dies, cut from tim Holtz paper and inked, some of the inside bits again cut from various papers including foil card. i added the focal image I stamped in jet black archival and added some stmped and inked tickets and rub ons .
I tried to make the pages flow but at the same time include all sorts of ways to travel. so here are a few more pages ..
I added various rub ons to fit with the page ..
For the covers I added the same and for the main image on the front cover I stamped him twice and fussy cut and added and then dyed some seam binding to tie together .
well it is great to be back and a huge thanks to Jenny and Linda for allowing me the time off and for being so wonderful! :)
thanks trace x
