icy steampunk for creative expressions DT

well here i am again with an icy and frosty make
using the fab steampunk set
 from Creative Expressions ,
designed by Sam Poole...
this time i have gone for a really icy and frosty feel,
using a favourite seasonal distress of mine..iced spruce...
I just LOVE this colour!

so here is my card :

wish i could get the shimmer and
frostiness
and yummy colour to show better...

i started by inking the background with iced spruce DI,
flicking with water and then
drying with heat tool.
i then added the small cog stamped for snowflakes,
and the next smallest cog..in iced spruce
and edged the card in evergreen bough.

next i put some rock candy distress stickles onto my craft mat
and applied very gently to card..
don't over rub as the ink will blend.
the bird was stamped 3 times using black archival ink,
coloured with distress inks and then
covered in a light coating of glue and seal and coated with loose rock candy distress
( THIS STUFF IS FAB!!!!a subtle sparkle and the colours shine through!)
i did the same to another wing and small wing part
and layered..

to complete the card ,
i added some dimensional flowers
made using Tim tattered floral die..
and a few twigs..
and added liquid pearls to snowflakes centres

let me know what you think!
and thanks for taking time in your busy day
to stop by and maybe leave a comment
they are all very appreciated...

have a fun and inky day!

  2. A beautiful card Trace. I really love the colour choice (must give it a go!). I have the distress stickle glitter too and love the subtle effect you've created here. I really love that bird stamp - wish they sold them separately. Sorry I haven't visited lately. Been under the weather and only really making and doing what I must do. Back now and will hopefully not miss your lovely creations.
