Thanks to all the lovely people who have messaged and emailed as well, and I do hope that next month I can keep up with blogging and commenting in a much better fashion! But thanks.x
So without further ado here is my Tim's tag for this month, I really loved this one and here is a link to Tim's tag...another amazing make...and here is mine :
It is true that the crafty master Tim Holtz is a genius! I love these stencils and how they layer...very cool...and my love affair with distress paints continues, so cool!
I stuck very true to the layout , just used my own colours..this is no.2. as no.1. wasn't happy with.
So a few close ups of the bits I love and then...I will show you the first one that I didn't like x
I LOVE distress paint, as you may have noticed, it is just so cool to play with along side the distress inks!
and the texture paste adds such cool dimension...yummy alongside all those inked layers.
And now to name and shame my no.1 tag..which just kept making me think of a giraffe ?! Not sure if you will see that or not..?
I think it is the pale bit, but can you see what I mean?
Anyway, thanks again or taking the time to pop by, follow my blog and leave comments... I am linking my tag up to Tim's tags here...( hopefully I will make this my second year of doing them all.)..And the countdown continues for Creative Chemistry 102 !
have a fun and inky day
trace x
I do prefer the blue one, but I think the first one is pretty good too, but then we always judge our own work harshly! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI think I can see what you mean about the first tag, your second attempt is fantastic, love the blues.
ReplyDeleteFantastic tag Trace. Hugs Rita xxx
ReplyDeleteLove it Trace. I think you're right, the depth of colour on tag 1 is too strong for the stamping but that's the joy/frustration of playing with inks - you never know exactly how it's going to turn out!! Huge hugs, Jenny x
ReplyDeleteLove them both Trace, the greeny one is like a breath of fresh air and has lovely depth to it, but saying that I also like the brown one which has a more aged look, I can't see the giraffe lol.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week.
hugs {brenda} x0x
Brilliant tags!!! Love the browns, but that's so typical of me!!!!!Wow so many layers here and loving the use of the stencils!!! Haven't got any of Tims but this has inspired me to get mine out as they say!!! They have been in a drawer too long. Loving the light and dark on the second one in particular.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry I have been such a bad blogger for months just haven't had time!!! Keep well. Your mojo has returned!!! xx
Great backgrounds, love the stamps on it and the use of colour is great too Trace!
ReplyDeletehi Trace - love both your tags - I can't really see the giraffe link but maybe thats my lack of imagination - lol x
ReplyDeleteAs I am living in Africa...I don't see Giraffe anywhere in that tag! I see stunning vintage colours and a great tag...but Giraffe? NOPE!
ReplyDeleteWow Trace this tag is beautiful. Love the colors and the butterflies.
ReplyDeleteHi Trace! I love the cool, blue tag - the use of texture paste is just stunning. Now, I also loved the second one and thought the colours were great, subtle and warm. I looked and looked and could not see giraffe and then suddenly, in the pale bit, I think I glimpsed his head!? Even so I still like the tag, actually! Both these tags are beautiful: I love what you create and you are always an inspiration. Thank you for the nice comment on my CVC tag. It meant a great deal to me. Julie Ann xx
ReplyDeleteTrace, both of these tags are gorgeous and personally love some of the muted tones and stamping. Makes it more vintage, I think! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteFabulous Trace. I like the brown one, but the blue is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHi Trace. Love your Tim Tag. The background color is so pretty and I think I like it better than the brown. Considering how much I love brown, that is saying something! :) Love your stenciling and stamping of the butterflies. I just got Tim's stencils and can't wait to play with them! Love your tag! <3 Candy
ReplyDeleteI love the shamed tag! LOL! Not a giraffe at all! Both are great!
ReplyDeleteI can't see a giraffe either Trace but I do love your take on Tim's tag in the blues, love how you always make the tags 'your own'. Looking forward to Chemistry 102 as well! Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteThe combination of stars, hoeycomb and rays in this colours is great! Hope the mojo will come back and blast you away! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteBoth tags are fabulous - I love the colours and images.
ReplyDeletexxx Hazel.
A fabulous tag, great colors.
ReplyDeleteI can sort of see what you mean about giraffes - but the first one is still great... though I have to say I think you were right to go again, only because the second attempt is simply glorious!! Completely beautiful colours - wow!!
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
Lol! They both look fab to me Trace! xx
ReplyDeleteI love both the tags too Trace but I think the blue one is my favourite. I see where you are coming from with the giraffe reference but wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't said lol! Well done for keeping up with Tim's tags even if you did feel your mojo had gone missing...... can't say I'd noticed that myself either ;D.
ReplyDeleteHugs
